How Dash Vending helped a laundromat’s grand opening in Vancouver
There’s a popular trend in Portland for laundromat’s to offer draft beer to customers. The idea is that customers can enjoy a refreshing beverage while they wait for their clothes to dry.
When Sarah and her husband opened up a laundromat in downtown Vancouver, they also wanted to offer beverages to customers. Albeit, they weren’t interested in a liquor license or the hassle of pouring drinks.
They connected with Dash Vending Services and ultimately agreed to form a partnership. The idea was this: Sarah would focus entirely on customer service and growing their wash and fold service, while Dash Vending installed and maintained a state-of-the-art Dixie Narco drink machine. While we wouldn’t offer alcoholic beverages, it would offer over 20 different drinks like La Croix, Poppi, Sprite, Monster, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, and Coke.
That was 6 months ago.
Since then, Heather’s business has taken off and so has the vending machine.
The best part? We created a custom wrap so the machine aesthetically matches the laundromat’s interior decor. If you navigate to our homepage, you can see the machine with its baby blue and white color scheme. It looks great and customers love it.
“The custom wrap was an expense and level of care I didn’t expect Dash Vending to provide. They’ve been great to work with”
The machine looks phenomenal and accepts cash, card, or Apple Pay with a single tap. With 6 months of data to back it up, the best sellers are Dr. Pepper bottles, Sprite cans, and Coke Zero.
The machine averages around $400 /month in revenue and we send 10% of profits to Sarah.
At the end of the day, the best part is not the revenue or aesthetically pleasing wrap. It boils down to providing a better customer experience and making their journey a more convenient one.
For Sarah, it’s also about removing things from her plate. Being a first time business owner (with two small kids, no less) is not easy. It requires long hours and sacrifice.
Sarah has to prioritize her time on big picture tasks that will increase revenue. The last thing she wants is to distract herself with is jammed soda cans, vending machine maintenance, and inventory management.
